How do I pair my R1 rangefinder with the app?

Open the Precision Pro Golf app on you Apple or Android device. Open the "DEVICES" tab, select the R1 Smart Rangefinder and tap "CONNECT."

Why won't my R1 stay connected?

You most likely need to change the location settings in your phone. In your settings, adjust the location settings so that the Precision Pro Golf app is ALWAYS allowed to access your location. If it's set to anything else, the app will not be able to update your R1 Smart rangefinder throughout the round.

How do I properly use the battery?

Make sure to charge the battery fully before your first round. The battery's strength will improve after three or four cycles of being fully charged and then depleted. After this process, your battery will be at full strength and capable of lasting three to four rounds on a single charge.

How do turn slope off?

Slide the Slope Indicator switch on the side of the rangefinder forward or backwards to turn slope on and off. Slope is activated when the green is visible. Slope is turned off when the green is not visible.

Can this be used as a normal rangefinder?

Yes! The R1 Smart rangefinder functions as a standard golf rangefinder when it is not connected to the Precision Pro Golf app. When disconnected, the R1 Smart rangefinder will still provide standard slope adjustments. When connected to the Precision Pro Golf app, the R1 Smart rangefinder can provide personalized MySlope adjusted distances, Wind Assist, and Front-Middle-Back GPS distances to the green.

How do I calculate my MySlope number?

You need to use a launch monitor to measure a couple of data points about your golf swing – ball speed, launch angle, and spin rate. Hit three or four good shots for each club while in front of a launch monitor. Then take the average of those shots for each club and input the information into the Precision Pro Golf app in the MySlope section. That's it! The next time you're on the course, your R1 Smart rangefinder will provide you completely personalized, MySlope adjusted distances.
