Polar Ignite 2 FAQs

How do I restart and reset my Polar Ignite 2?

If you experience problems with your watch, you can try restarting it. Restarting the watch will not delete any of the settings or your personal data from the watch.

TO RESTART THE WATCH

Press the button to access the main menu, swipe down to find Settings, navigate to Settings > General settings > About your watch > swipe all the way down to find Restart. First, tap Restart and then tap  to confirm the restart.

You can also restart your watch by pressing and holding the button for 10 seconds.

TO RESET THE WATCH TO FACTORY SETTINGS

If restarting your watch didn't help, you can reset the watch back to factory settings. Note that resetting the watch back to factory settings empties all personal data and settings from the watch, and you will need to set it up again for your personal use. All data that you have synced from your watch to your Flow account is safe. You can do the factory reset via FlowSync or from the watch.

FACTORY RESET VIA FLOWSYNC

  1. Go to flow.polar.com/start and download and then install the Polar FlowSync data transfer software onto your computer.
  2. Connect your watch to the computer’s USB port.
  3. Open settings in FlowSync.
  4. Press the Factory Reset button.
  5. If you use Flow app to sync, check the list of paired Bluetooth devices on your phone, and remove your watch from the list if it's there.

Now you need to set up your watch again, either via mobile or computer. Just remember to use the same Polar account in the setup you've used before resetting.

FACTORY RESET FROM THE WATCH

  1. Press the button to access the main menu, swipe down to find Settings.
  2. Choose Settings > General settings > About your watch.
  3. Swipe all the way down to find Reset all data and settings.
  4. First, tap Reset all data and settings.
  5. Then tap  to confirm the factory reset.

Now you need to set up your watch again, either via mobile or computer. Just remember to use the same Polar account in the setup you've used before resetting.

Where can I see my progress toward my goal?

You can check how you’re doing in reaching your activity goal for the day either from your Polar device, Polar Flow mobile app or from the Polar Flow web service.

Your Polar device gradually fills up an activity bar to indicate your progress towards your daily activity goal. In addition, it shows your active time, calories and steps. Polar device also gives you options for reaching your goal. It tells how long you need to be active if you choose low, medium or high intensity activities. In the device, 'up' means low intensity, 'walking' means medium intensity, and 'jogging' means high intensity. With practical guidance like ´walk for 50 minutes or jog for 20 minutes´ you can choose how to reach your goal.

You'll find more examples for low, medium and high intensity activities at the Polar Flow web service and Flow app. For more information on how your activity is shown on the device, see the user manual for your Polar device.

How do I export individual training sessions from Polar Flow Web Services?

You can choose either to export your training file as a GPX, TCX or CSV file, or to zip the files for faster download. In case you have a slow internet connection, we recommend you choose the compressed zip file for bigger training files to speed up the export.

You can export the route of a training session in GPX format and other training data—such as heart rate, calorie and cadence data—in TCX format or CSV format. These formats are widely supported in 3rd party services, such as Training Peaks and Strava. Export of multisport training sessions is available in GPX and TCX file formats.

  1. Go to Diary.
  2. Click a training session to open it.
  3. Click Export session at the bottom of the page.
  4. Choose whether you want to export a TCX file, CSV file, GPX file or one of the files as a zip package. Exporting the file as a zip package makes downloading faster.

The selected file is saved into your computer's default downloads folder. For example, in Windows 7 and Windows 8 the folder is: C:\Users\username\Downloads.

Note: You need to extract the zip file first, before you import GPX and TCX files into third-party services.

Different programs and sites handle the data differently, some use it as it is, while others recalculate and/or filter it based on their own algorithms. This is why the data exported from Polar Flow may appear slightly different in a 3rd party web service.
