FlightScope Mevo FAQs

What is the difference between the FlightScope Mevo and Mevo+?

The Mevo 3D Doppler radar-based launch monitor can be used indoors and outdoors to practice with purpose and improve your overall game. It includes:

  • 8 accurate performance data parameters
  • Action video clips with data overlay
  • Dial in your distances indoors and outdoors
  • Save, upload, and share each practice session

Mevo+ adds the power of Mevo with more data, more features, simulation, and gamification. It includes:

  • All Mevo features Plus
  • 8 Additional accurate data parameters
  • 5 Simulated golf courses (iOS only)
  • 17 practice ranges
  • Internal camera for easy target alignment
  • Wi-Fi hotspot provides a reliable connection


Where should the Mevo unit be placed for best results?

Recommended setup position is 6ft behind the tee. Setup position may be as short as 4ft for smaller spaces. For high swing speed, radar should be moved back to 7ft.

If indoors, you will need 8 ft. of ball flight, requiring a total of 15 ft of space.

Keep the the area between the Mevo and the tee clear of any objects and people.

Place a metallic sticker on the ball for optimal spin accuracy. Aim the metallic sticker on the ball away from the radar.

The Mevo should be level with the launch position for most accurate readings.


Does Mevo have a built-in camera? How is the video recorded?

No. Mevo does not have a built-in camera. The video is taken with the camera on your mobile device within the Mevo app. The Mevo radar synchronizes the action video clip, which is recorded on your device automatically, resulting in an overlay of your captured data on the video clip of your swing.


What mobile devices are compatible with Mevo?

Apple:

iPhones / iPads with:

  • iOS 12 or later
  • Bluetooth LE 4.0 – supports UART/Serial Port Emulation service with RX and TX characteristics

Can Mevo be used when balls are hit into a net?

Yes, as long as long as the minimum space requirements are met.


Can Mevo record video with data overlay?

Yes. Once you select video in the settings, the app will access the camera on your mobile device. In addition, slow motion video is available for mobile devices that have this feature. 


Can you input more than 14 clubs in the app?

Yes. An unlimited amount of clubs can be inputted.


Can the app accept the club loft of each club?

Club loft can be input manually for reference purposes only.


What is the purpose of the little metallic stickers for golf balls?

Metallic stickers are needed in an indoor environment in order for the Mevo to accurately measure ball spin.


Does the Mevo simulate ball flight?

Yes. The Mevo simulates 2D trajectories, but it does not provide 3D trajectories and shot shape.

When you purchase a FlightScope, per manufacturer policy, the return period for all FlightScope launch monitors is 30 days (you will be provided with free PlayBetter shipping label). This means the FlightScope Mevo or  Mevo+ unit must be returned to the PlayBetter warehouse within 30 days of it arriving at your shipping address.

For the Mevo+ Pro Package Software, once activated, it cannot be refunded.
